I've been praying for Staci and her kidney stone and hadn't heard any updates, so decided it was time to get blogging. Our family has been through a trying time with my Dad going through open heart surgery April 20 to replace his aoritc valve and he had one bypass. A 5-hour surgery saved his life and we thank the Lord for Dad's recovery.

I'm going to attempt to put a few pictures of my kids on here too. Prom was April 18 with both Sam and Summer going for the first time. Sam is a junior and Summer is a freshman. Sam escorted Leah Roth, also a junior, and Summer was invited by Malte, the German exchange student in his junior year. I can't believe how old they look and I'm happy the after prom party is over. That nearly killed me.

This is for Staci

Okay, this may be the one and only blog I ever fit in but Rae Ann said Staci is wondering what I've been up to. Thanks, Staci, for setting up my account for me. I do look at Mike and Staci's blog quite often but never could figure out how to comment. May not be able to even yet but I am trying to figure this stuff out.
I'm glad to report that my hip is better than ever and I'm more active than my doctor recommended. Dog and cat marketing is keeping me busy. Friends of Animals Rice County has really taken off. We're rescuing a lot of dogs and getting them adopted out. We advertise cats too but aren't having much luck convincing people to adopt them. The Fair on the Square is coming up September 27 and that's our big membership drive for Friends of Animals, so most of my time is occupied with that. Plus, my brother-in-law in California is working on building a web site for us and communication with him is keeping me busy. A lot of language I don't understand.
Summer is playing varsity tennis and I go to every meet to watch her. Sam has been working for Harlan Ebright after school and comes home covered in grease. Keeping his clothes clean has been a job in itself. Sam and Summer have grown up fast and are less dependent of us but we always make time for breakfast and dinner together. Having teenagers is fun as well as stressful. Their friends are at the house quite often too, so it makes for a lot of activity. Life is good.

Welcome!

Since I want to be able to keep up with what's going on in the lives of Matt & Tina....I decided to set up this blog for them and see if they'd post to it :)
